Klaus has a wealth of experience to bring into the cooperation with Guideline. Since the age of 5, his life has been dominated
by fishing and hunting. He grew up on the west coast of Jutland, Denmark, with numerous smaller streams and lakes easily accessible
to youngsters with interest for the outdoors and fishing. When he started to work for the largest flyfishing retailer in Denmark,
back in the beginning of the 90’s, it was only a natural progression in what has become a life devoted to flyfishing.
| The years in the retail side of the business grew the interest for both fly casting and product development and as the contact
base got more extensive he got offered work as fishing guide on the mythical Salmon Rivers of Iceland. Once there, it was no going back and he has now spent the summers in Iceland during the past ten years guiding and conducting casting- and fishing schools for clients from all over the world. Parallel to his life in Iceland, he has been spending the winters in the world famous Tierra Del Fuego region, guiding for Sea Trout and also working as Camp Manager and host for one of the well known Lodges there. Spending almost 12 months a year on or near a river in some of the most pristine and well known flyfishing areas of the world has given Klaus a knowledge of both fishing and products that is unique. He has played a key role in the R&D department for Loop Tackle and has had his hands in several of the most popular products to come out of that brand in recent years. His work and passion has taken him to countries like, Iceland, Cuba, Chile, Argentina, US and Canada, where he has been a popular lecturer, fly-casting teacher and a head liner at many Spey Claves and shows around the world. He has also appeared in several flyfishing films. |
Guideline MD, Stein Thorvaldsen welcomes Klaus Frimor to the Guideline Team. |
Leif Stävmo, Product Manager at Guideline:
“ I am absolutely thrilled to see this agreement happen! Klaus has been a long time colleague in the business and I have always been admiring his work on the casting pools around Europe, his pleasant and laid back personality and the way he has managed to stay tuned with the trade and at the same time making sure to follow his passion and drive for the real thing; flyfishing in beautiful and challenging areas around the world. Klaus' heart is closely connected to fishing and his thoughts on rod design and actions, performance of flylines and casting-style are all based on his experience as a truly professional fly angler. In the coming years, this will add a new and exciting dimension to technical developments in our products range, as well as in the philosophy behind it. Klaus will add tremendous power to our Team and will further strengthen our relationship with fly-anglers and dealers around Scandinavia, Europe, US and Canada.”
